Both leaves lie in the same plane at full travel, so the lid opens completely flush — no offset gap. This simplifies gasket sealing on flush-mount enclosures and eliminates pinch points on operator-facing panels.

Match size to panel weight and mounting area: 25×20 mm for the lightest covers, 25×30 mm for moderate loads or thicker panels, 28×40 mm for the widest span and highest torque demand. As a rule, the leaf length should cover at least 60% of the panel edge for even load distribution.

Internal friction holds the panel at any angle without detents or snap-back. Torque does decrease gradually under heavy cycling — if drift is a concern, confirm with the supplier whether adjustable-torque or replaceable-friction variants are available before specifying.

Plastic wins where corrosion resistance, electrical insulation, or low weight matter most — humid environments, electronic enclosures, and portable equipment. For continuous temperatures above 60°C or loads beyond ~2 kg, however, a metal torque hinge is the safer long-term choice.
